The Dominicans have won their last two games after dropping their opener to Venezuela on Thursday. They lost that game 3-1, but have bounced back to beat Nicaragua 5-4 on Friday and then Puerto Rico on Saturday 5-2. They are chasing both Panama and Venezuela who both came into Sunday a perfect 2-0 in the tournament. The Dominicans have three games left including this one and need to win all three to unsure themselves as spot in the semifinals on Thursday.

The Mexican team is in a more desperate position as they have yet to win in the tournament and would basically be eliminated with a loss on Sunday.
They opened the tournament with a tough 6-5 loss to Curacao and then were shutout on Friday when Puerto Rico beat them 2-0.
Saturday they lost another heartbreaker as they fell to Panama 4-3. They have been close in all of their games, but haven't been able to get over the hump and get that first win.
Sunday it doesn't get any easier against a very good Dominican Republic team. They will have to play their best game if they want to get that first win and keep their hopes alive.
